Toon accuracy. Snarl was the only Dinobot in the cartoon to have only a sword and no gun. Although it did shoot beams out of the tip like a gun. Other Dinos were shown only having guns. No swords.

I want this now! He looks incredible!!!!! Prime vs prime has his review up now of snarl. Love the comparisons with the other dinobots. By some miracle hopefully swoop end of year

Probably because they included those horrible wheelie and daniel figures along with those two whereas snarl doesn't have another figure to go with him. I wish they would have done the swords for the other two as well.

No it's because Snarl was the only one to use a sword in the 86 movie, he doesn't come with a gun.
The speculation is that the Daniel and Wheelie figures were included so that as the plastic budget is lowerered they could remove the bonus figure but keep the dinobots relatively the same complexity.

Not speculation. Designers confirmed that on a recent q&a session last fall.
Tho is rich that prices keep increasing and the toy budget keeps decreasing.
