Wow, tons of stuff today at Value Village Guelph. Unfortunately, some employee there thinks that old = valuable.
Spotted:
- 2 Transmetal Terrorsaurs 4.99 (I bought one)
- 1 Super Gobot Warpath 7.99 (!) (missing at least the rotor)
- 1 BW Razorclaw 2.99
- 1 Cybertron Defense Hot Shot 2.99 (I bought this too)
- Assorted GI Joe figures 3.99 each
- BW Magnaboss Silverbolt (eagle) 4.99 (missing one feather missile)
- bag of Samurai TMNT figures 4.99
- 4 Galoob TNG figures 4.99 (Riker, Picard, Troi, Geordi)
There was a cat-like BWTF as well. I'm thinking it was BW Magnaboss Prowl, but I was in a hurry.
In the glass cases up front:
- 1 G2 Sideswipe (couldn't see the price)
- 1 Universe King Atlas (couldn't see the price)
- 1 BW Magnaboss Ironhide, all splayed out. Think it was 7.99, but maybe 9.99
- 1 BW Transmetal Waspinator 14.99 (!)
They also still had the thrashed G1 Ratchet for $8 or $9 and the Aerialbots for $12.99 each
There's all sorts of stuff in the cases up front -- Star Trek Christmas ornaments, gameboy games.
On the one hand, it's neat to see all this stuff. On the other hand, it sucks because there's someone with a little knowledge, which is a dangerous thing. I'd say most of this stuff is way overvalued -- an incomplete TM Waspinator for 14.99 is particularly laughable, as is 7.99 for a thrashed and incomplete Super Gobot. And you can find a more complete Magnaboss for less on eBay.
And why split up Magnaboss and put two pieces in the back of the store on pegs and one piece up front in the glass case?
Does anyone know how distribution works for VV? I had thought that stuff stays more or less local, but I saw a ST:TNG puzzle last week in Kitchener and then a different one tonight in Guelph. They're both
awful but obviously from the same retail time period, which makes me think they came from the same donor but went to different stores.
Hitting some more local stores tomorrow, so maybe I'll see.
