Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF

At first I only bought new from stores, but then I realized good deals can be had by buying used.

I also go for complete figures. I just hope that none of them fell into the toilet, or a person was murdered on top of them

^^ Good idea of scrubbing them with a toothbrush with some detergent.

I prefer loose/complete actually, saves me the trouble of forcing myself to throw away the box...and I haven't thrown anything away in the past 2 years. I really should...

No preference and for the loose G1's, it doesn't really bother me if it's missing a few minor parts.

Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF

I'll do both, with the price deciding which way I'll swing. Most of my figures are from retail, but if I can't find what I want in-store, I'll get it loose. Though, whatever I plan on getting has gotta be complete and in good condition.

I buy both! I enjoy the thrill of opening a new toy and getting that new toy smell but I am also thoroughly excited about the thrill of the chase! digging through boxes at garage sales, toy shows and thrift stores for that adrenaline rush when you find a real treasure and then tracking down all the parts that are missing!!!! (not to mention I find toys at value village that are almost pristine)

Re: Do you buy only brand new, or preowned TF

Depends for me...

I buy new stuff from the stores. I don't have the patience to wait to get something loose.

I usually buy my Beast Wars stuff loose, since most of the time it's been owned by collectors anyways, but sometimes it's cheaper to buy a Japanese edition than to track down a loose one.

I don't collect any MIB G1 stuff, so the stuff I do pick up I usually like it to be in person so I can feel how tight the joints are, how good the stickers are etc, etc. I've also found that in the long run it's cheaper to buy a loose complete figure then to try and hunt down all the parts for one seperatly. It will end up costing you more in the long run.

Cheers!
