The possiblities of AUTOBOT GEARS

I am attempted to pick up this figure but I feel risky that the repaint or exclusive of this guy might keep coming.
The first reason is the appearance which might be similar to primal. And then, Nemesis prime could be repainted it easily. My worry is that 2010 exclusive prime or nemesis prime will come from this mode.

Is this mode worth wide to you guys, or I can just buy an Optimus Prime's head to modify it myself?

what do you guys think? Autobot Gears is a go or no go ?

Re: The possiblities of AUTOBOT GEARS

ok....first I'm gonna try and translate what you just said..

You're thinking of getting a ROTF Gears but think there is going to be (and for some reason...) an Optimus Prime and or Nemesis Prime to come as an exclusive to who knows what in 2010 from this mold because it has a similar head?

.
..
...Till the day I die I bet there would never be an official remolded Optimus head made for the Stockade/Gears mold that will be an exclusive anywhere...the very thought is asinine.

It's a good mold yes but you're definitely going to have to mod it yourself because it'll never be done....ever.

I am actually thinking about the body appearance; don't you think it has potential to look like Beast War Primal ?
And hasbro can easily put a Optimus/Nemesis head into this mode.

Thanks for helping me to translate my sentences. My bad.

Re: The possiblities of AUTOBOT GEARS

I could see why you would think that since he has a gorilla like stature but I don't think it would make a good Optimus Primal at all. The gorilla stature is in that mold's robot mode where as Primal had it as an alt mode originally, giving his robot mode a more human stature. Not to mention all the window pieces that jet out of his arms ruining the look.

But again, it'll never be officially done in any way shape or form. Reason one, there haven't been any Beast Wars homages in the movie line and I don't think it's going to start anytime soon. Two, because the colours would be too close to Stockade which was only released last year. Finally three, this mold was never really that popular to begin with being a non-on screen character I doubt Hasbro would want to pump more money into it by making it a new head...

I can really see Hasbro doing this. First they would change the head and remold the chest to make it look like Prime. Then after a few months repaint him into Ultramagnus followed by a Nemesis Prime and people will buy them all....LOLOLOLOL

C'mon, Primal's bot mode still looks like a gorilla, he barely transforms.

I can well see an Optimus Primal in that mold. The proportions are pretty good. Take Stockade, remove the S7 markings and Con symbol, change the head, add a few blue, white (or silver) and red paint apps and you're done.

After all, they've done a Primal with Crumplezone before... and a Megatron out of Red Alert.

Re: The possiblities of AUTOBOT GEARS

Maybe an FAB Optimus Prime head would better match the Stockade body? This actually sounds pretty promising!

FAB Prime's head would be too big. Maybe the one from Classics DLX Prime would work better.

I think this is going to be something they'll let kitbashers take care of.

Though I could see an exclusive where he has a more G1 styled paint scheme.
