Reissues Vs. Original
I'm sure this topic has been discussed ad nauseam but what does everyone think of collecting reissue TF'ers? for years I wanted an original G1 Hound, but to find one 100% in good condition that doesn't cost 200 dollars is next to impossible. So I decided to buy the Reissue Hound, not original but great substitution.
I have a lot of originals but I will settle for reissues, what does everyone else think?

Re: Reissues Vs. Original
Well as a G1 Collector, I just want a representation of the G1 Toy. Be it original, reissue or High Quality KO like shockwave. Buying an original shockwave is pretty pricey so for the time being the KO is standing in and it works fine.
I also have a reissue Piranacon in my G1 Cases.
It all depends on what YOU think.

Yeah, I have no problem with reissues either, but it depends on who it is and sometimes the reissues are just as expensive as the originals which is ridiculous to be honest! :P

Re: Reissues Vs. Original
Honestly, reissues are the same toy 20+ years later. If you can't find or afford an 80's version, there is nothing wrong with owning a reissue. At the end of the day, it's still a G1 Transformer.

Exactly, Just if you ever sell, don't try and pass it or KO's off as Originals.

Re: Reissues Vs. Original
I'm all for reissues and hq KO's. My collection is comprised of 90% reissue/ko. Some however will frown upon reissues as G1 replacements. In their eyes, G1 only means original and that a reissue is its own label, "reissue".
I collect for the nostalgia, so I could care less what uptight collectors consider G1.

Re: Reissues Vs. Original
For me it depends on the reissue. I need it to be almost exactly as the original(stickers, weapons, etc).
I had a TRU Reissue Skywarp and was not happy with it so I sold it on online. The weapons were not acceptable and buying the weapons alone online proved to be futile.

Re: Reissues Vs. Original
Honestly, unless your a puriest or a NUT LIKE ME.... you won't even know the difference for a lot of the reissues prior to the "Takara Book Box" series. Not to mention a lot of those High End KOs are also pretty undetechable if you don't know your stuff.
