G1 Ultra Magnus Question
I have a general question about G1 Ultra Magnus. Does he have a Rub Symbol?, I can't remember if he does or not.

Re: G1 Ultra Magnus Question
No, because pressing on a rubsign would put too much pressure on him, and he couldn't deal with that.

Re: G1 Ultra Magnus Question
Yep, on the roof of the cab and you can only see it in cab mode as it's on the piece that flips around for his head to pop up, so in robot mode it's on the bottom side.

Re: G1 Ultra Magnus Question
Give old Dion a break. To be remade as a "pale" imitation of your best friend and still have to wear a suit of armour just to be somewhat tough as him has to stress a guy out...that's why he cannot multitask things like flying when a group of his autobots just "bought it" fighting the Decepticons and worrying aboot wearing a rub symbol.

Dion didn't become Ultra Magnus.
Hasbro has gone officially on record to crush that belief.

Re: G1 Ultra Magnus Question
Dug this up from an old email I was sent from another local collector:
Quote:
Some G1s have no rubsigns and Stamps, which also known as TM or Pre-rub version, but only applies to the figures made in 1984, I am forwarding you a LINK for your reference in the future
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...s-list-g1.html
If you read through, you will notice it mentioned "***All figures from 1984 were re-released in 1985 with rub signs, which revealed if a figure was an Autobot or Decepticon warrior." so only 1984 figures have both pre-rub and rubsign versions. So if you couldn't find rubsign(unless it was peeled off) or stamp on a dinobot or any combiner figures, this must be a KO.
However, when Macau became one of the places making G1 figures in 1986, you don't always see rubsigns if the figure has "Macau" on it, but still should have the stamps though.
|
So if it was one of the Ultra Magnii made in Macau it wouldn't have a rubsign.

Re: G1 Ultra Magnus Question
^it won't have the rub sign if it has plastic wheels and unpainted super face.
second runs of certain figs were "cheaped out" on as a cost cutting measure,be it missing rub signs, plastic wheels instead of rubber, chrome stickers instead of actual chrome plating, plastic feet instead of diecast, etc.
some examples are rodimus prime,kup,hotrod,metroplex.
