TRU must be really struggling to up the prices so much compared to other retailers. Sounds like the end is nigh for them.

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Haven't bought nothin from TRU since early Sept

Missed TWrecks and still don't have a Transmutate cause I been waitin for TRU "sales" which never come

(think there might have been ONE around Xmas, but was too broke, natch)

I would love to support em but at these prices, "sales" are gonna be higher than the couple-weeks-ago MSRP?
lol jk, there won't be any sales
At least not until they start liquidating, prior to closing down

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Why don't all you crybabies take it elsewhere?

TRU is a poor struggling company that needs our charity. We should be thankful that they give us the opportunity to give them our money. LESS FOR MORE!!! That's their new motto.

(SARCASM OF COURSE IN CASE YOU AREN'T SURE)

Seriously, I wonder what the aisles will look like in a couple months. I guess I'm lucky that money is tighter this year. Makes it easier to skip toys that aren't must haves.

I also want to see if Walmart, and the independents, will follow suit, or will TRU be more expensive than Toy Snowman, etc?

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Lets not forget that TRU is under new owenership since Aug this year.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/put...r-us-1.6146148

Pretty sure we had one sale on TFs since them prior to that we count on them pretty regularly.

I'd like and prefer to support Canadian when I can, but within reason. I've lost count of how many prices increases we had in the last 12 months. TRU always seems to be the first to raise prices, and last to seem to get new stock.

I am curious to see this, and I have no reason to hit TRU in the next few weeks, and nothing on the website yet.

Aren't these price increases a Hasbro thing? I recall news stories about how they were increasing prices again but don't remember the new MSRPs.

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Tru bumped up their prices already around Xmas time. Which I assume would of been the rumoured increase in msrp.
Not all the other retailers have changed their prices yet and tru has bumped them up again.
Not sure if this is the msrp or just tru raising their prices.
