Alternatives to selling on eBay?
I've recently decided to sell off a fairly large portion of one of my toy collections. I've been selling on several forums and that made a decent initial dent in my sell list, but now that things have slowed down I'm trying to figure out other venues to sell through.
While eBay may seem like the obvious choice, I have heard that is has increasingly become a pain for sellers and a great destination for dishonest buyers. I'd also like to hold off on selling on kijiji as a last ditch effort. For those here that do a lot of sales, are there other alternatives that you have found success with? Or if you do sell on eBay, have you had any/many bad experiences dealing with buyers who tried to rip you off?

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
I think just try to sell on this forum is good enough. Check the feedback if you are not sure about the buyer.

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
Consider selling on TFW2005 as well. It's as easy (hell, often cheaper) to ship to the States as to Canada.

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
I'm starting to think about having to use eBay again myself, but with the issues I had last time I'd rather not.
I've been sticking to the forums, and that isn't working out in general because shipping costs scuttle most deals. Unless it's something rare or highly sought, then people don't mind the shipping.
The best recommendations I've read have been to use your local toy fares, conventions. But that doesn't work for me personally since there are basically none out here.
Good Luck

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
kijiji like paypal owned by ebay,.. safest best to sell here, shelflife or at the con that said the auction sites ebay,..ebates.. etc have a massive exposure but you are also competing with others that have the same product/availability and that sets the tone for price, as for running the risk of a none payer you will have that any where you sell on line even on the boards but it is minimal on the boards.

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
Nothing wrong with Kijiji. Owned by ebay, I guess, but no money changes hands over the site. I've sold decent amounts locally through kijiji.
If there is a pop culture or toy expo, some kind of local con with reasonable table rates near you, it can be worth it. I unloaded almost my entire 25th Anniversary GI Joe collection and a large amount of Transformers last year at one. Table cost me 90 bucks, I sold over a grand. Be willing to deal, show up early enough to scout out the other vendors.

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
Sell at Cons and Toy Shows if you can. I find this way is better than E-Bay cause PayPal won't rip you off and Kijiji buyers want your stuff for super cheap but by selling at shows you get a good price for your stuff. You can also lighten your load oh and meet lotsa cool and interesting people.

Re: Alternatives to selling on eBay?
Find a local toy show and have at it. I would specify Toy Show over Convention to try and get the most bang for your buck, as convention table rentals are more.
