Also it would help if Tru didn't have $75 for free shipping now. My cancelled order was three runabouts (each would have gone to a different friend)... Because I COULDN'T order just one with a small Lego set, or two, and get free shipping.

So is that the solution to stopping scalping then? Up the price, and have a ton available everywhere?

To me, the real way to end scalping is to stop buying from scalpers. To let them drown in their stockpile.

That's part of a solution but nerds gonna get their shit.

Tru should absolutely be limiting exclusives like these to 1 or 2.

Exclusives should definitely be limited to one per household.

I can get behind that. I still think them being more stocked would be most beneficial.

No, no they shouldn't. I buy 2 of every figure and I'm not going to start limiting myself now

Hasbro should just have everything available for pre-order.
Let collectors buy direct from them via pre-order.

If Lego can operate well off a website along with distribution to general retail, why can't Hasbro do the same with Transformers and other lines?

I am sure hard-core collectors would even pay a nominal annual membership to ensure they can acquire the figures they want.

Look man. The reality is that we're seeing stories in this thread and elsewhere of Runabout cancellations across the board. Scalpers scooping up every Runabout in the store. The system is broken.

Maybe not ONE per household, but certainly an in-store and online limit of no more than two. These aren't regular retail releases.

(making Runamuck's counterpart, and one of the the seekers, hard to find exclusives rather than regular retail, is another discussion)

It's your prerogative to buy two of every figure. But given the current landscape, I don't think TRU or the collector's market needs to be *beholden to your specific desires*.

Sides there are easy ways around it to get your seconds, so.

LEGO is such a vast brand on its own. It allows LEGO to operate on a different level than Hasbro. It is literally the only thing they do.

That said, I also agree. FFS Hasbro, just do this shit better.

Those that buy a couple extras for friends or for themselves are not the problem here. The problem are those that buy out all stock only to resell them at a markup. Most scalpers are not fans themselves, they're only in it to make money.
Sorry to say, but not everyone has the best of intentions. The fact that literally on the side of this page you have Runabout already being sold for $51 shows that the majority of the people buying multiples aren't in it for their friends. Sure, I've not got anything against people helping out their friends, whatever. But when popular items like game consoles, graphics cards and actions figures are being scalped like the way they are currently, buying multiples shouldn't be an option (regardless of the reason). More retailers need to implement (or enforce) the one per customer policy.

*Edit: When I said one per customer, I was referring to store exclusives, not regular mainline. My bad
