Not saying this is necessarily universal for all call centres, but I've worked in em before
There is a focus on "resolving the issue" and a big thing for them in ensuring that issues are resolved within one call, because multiple call-ins for the same issue suggests that it "wasn't resolved on the 1st go", which is a metric that corporate can brag about
Plus when they've got us on the line, they've probably got like, 120 other callers in the queue
They are literally, simply tasked to get calls "over & done with" and are directed in a such a manner that calls should be "resolved in one"
"what can we do so that you don't have to call in again" etc
