Toy Fair 2016 ? Fortress Maximus display images

I gotta agree with the thought that if the figure is too complex to transform, it loses its luster. A lot of the fun of playing with a G1 figure as a child was how SIMPLE it was to take something from a robot, to a vehicle, and back again. Some figures only got better when G2 rolled around. Still very simple, but offered more play options.

Fast forward to the movie stuff. First movie figures weren't bad, but ROTF took a shit tonne of the fun out of it for kids. Some had that nice, simple feel, like the Human Alliance figures, but others like Deluxe Mudflap or Voyager Mixmaster just weren't worth the effort.

I like how simplistic the recent Combiner Wars stuff has been. I like being abe to watch my niece and nephew play with recent figures without them asking for help to make it a truck. Reminds me of when I was a kid, and it feels good.

fort max is quite impressive being a retool.
I like how metroplex's back is now fort max's front chest,but with a whole crap ton of retooling.
I also love all the additional bodyless headmasters,though im not sure on some of the vehicle things/animal things that are blister packed with them.
initially I thought one of the vehicle animal things was headmaster fangry but i'm guessing it's not if they have a full sized and complete mindwipe coming out...

What are you referring to? I didn't see anything extra in the photos of Fort Max.

I think he was talking about the Squeezeplay Titan Master. He comes with an animal partner that he can ride and become part of. I think they changed his name to Crash Bash or something ridiculous like that, much like they changed Siren to Loud Mouth.

The focus of the gimmick is that everyone Deluxe and up is a Headmaster now. Even some unconventional characters like Scourge, Galvatron, and Alpha Trion are now Headmasters or "Titan Masters"
