Ever had problems selling/shipping to Italy ?
Just wondering cause I just sold to a guy in Italy for the first time and this has been my ONLY problem selling on eBay since I started in 2002.(my feedback is 500 all positive, no negs or neuts)
I have seen MANY sellers say they don't ship to Italy for many years now but I thought I'd be safe...I'm wrong.
So this guy is demanding ALL(including shipping) his money back even though I sent him a copy of the insurance form which proves I sent it...because the insurance claim has taken 7 days ...so far.
He says he'll leave me neg. cause it's taking too long.
Why didn't I listen to the thousands of other eBayers and just say "F^CK ITALY"
WHY...why why why why why ? ? ? ? ?
Well, goodbye 500 (100% POSITIVE) feedback.
If anyone reading this still ships to Italy...don't be stupid like me.
I have changed my shipping policy, NO MORE TO ITALY ! ! ! ...
...I suggest everyone else do the same.
Anyone else ?

Here is why...
http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/il_008.htm
Italy Customs will not accept Toys not made wholly of wood.
Don't send toys to Italy...unless it's "LOG" from Ren & Stimpy.

Yeah, I only ship to Italy if it can be tracked; I've heard too many horror stories that I'd rather not take the risk.

I would never ever ship to Italy. They can die buried in pizzas.

Re: Ever had problems selling/shipping to Italy ?
I'm sure nobody has looked into it, but even though their is coverage for non-trackable methods of shipping, the insurance process is horribly slow, and can take a few months (I heard 2-4 weeks usually?). 'Cannibis is right to only ship to Italy only with a tracking ability, otherwise, never ship to them. My general rule is not to ship to Italy, China, or Africa, since the word "scam" is associated with them on ebay.
Although now I'm considering to exclude countries from the Middle East entirely, and altho most people do not buy from there, I've recently had a question to ship to someone working abroad in the United Arab Emirates, and it's not that the person is questionable in his honesty, it's also the poor and unreiable postal service.
If anyone else has suggestions or areas to avoid shipping, please feel free to share your experience or tips!

Dude, that sucks. Still, 1 out of 500 is really darn good. The glass is 99.8% full.

Re: Ever had problems selling/shipping to Italy ?
Sorry to hear your perfect record is toast. I wouldn't sweat it though. It is only one out of 500.
I've heard too many horror stories to even consider shipping to Italy. Really not worth the hassle.
