Re: Tetra Squadron by Impossible Toys

Valkyrie (Arcee), Quintessons, exo-suits, Allicon, etc. Their track record is not all that great when it comes to transforming figures, but unless I'm making stuff up, this one has been designed by Venksta. As long as the materials are decent, the figure should be fine. There are thin parts on that one, but it's not something we haven't seen before on other figures.

Re: Tetra Squadron by Impossible Toys

Ouch! Poor Thundercracker.

These actually look much better than I thought they would be. I like how they transform from the Tetra Jet alt mode to the F-15 robot mode like in the cartoon. Only thing I would change is maybe add some kind of cage or just a false cockpit to go over the jet mode's cockpit in robot mode to make it look even more like the F-15 robot mode.

I wonder if/when they'll do a 3-pack for the Rainmakers. Maybe as a convention or store exclusive.

Re: Tetra Squadron by Impossible Toys

Just watched the 2 youtube vids. Drop test was impressive.
Transformation looks like its a nightmare.

I even thought they looked better in the vid until they showed the bot mode again......

Its the superdeformed stubby seeker squadron..

Really sucks cause I'm a seeker whore but don't think I can do it.

Ill just wait til they sell really cheap like the quintessons and then maybe ill consider them.

Really really sucks cause I want to like them.....

I designed this back in 2009 before I started Renderform. This was my first full figure, so I had alot to learn. Alicon was actually the second design I did for them. Anyways, don't go buying it because of my involvement. I haven't seen the final toy, so I can't recommend it. I got to play with the testshot at TFCon last year, and was impressed how my design turned out. They had also made some improvements. But I wish they had released it by 2011 at the latest, as the design shows its age. A lot of toys designed after it have already been released, like Cyclops, Steelcore, most of Fansproject's Crossfire and Causality figures.

I feel the jet mode is the selling point for this, and the transformation could inspire future designs, considering it ends up looking like the F15 robot mode. Sucks about the head, I wish I was given the chance to fix it. But they seem to be happy with it.

Btw, little tidbit. Valkyrie was designed by one of the top 3P designers. I won't say who, but you'd all be surprised the amazing toys that guy has had released.
