Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
Hoping this movie ends up being memorable. Will post a review at some point.
Anyone else see or seeing it?

Re: Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
Well, a very brief review is that I really did enjoy the movie. One thing I disliked was how heavy the carnage and CGI was, thought it started to feel too much, but other than that it was a damn good movie. I do recommend it. Cast was pretty good, music was fitting and yeah, very happy with this version. Far better than Superman Returns, even in the first 5 min to be honest. lol

Re: Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
I just saw the move. Here's my spoiler free opinion. For me it's summed up by two words. Pretentious and awkward.
The movie technically is magnificent, but when you dig into the story, and more specifically its execution, there are some issues that needed to be smoothed over. The general shape of the story is really good, but some of the dialogue made me cringe and some of the reasons for the conflicts were weak and unclear. In fact some of them didn't even make sense. Because of this, they turned Zod from what could of been a very engaging and complex villain into a moustache twirler.
As for the all-star cast, pretty much a waste of talent. Most didn't have much to do other than being a big name to be in the movie. I will say that Amy Adams did make a good Lois Lane, and Cavill a pretty decent Superman.
6.5 out of 10.

Re: Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
Better than Superman Returns overall, but still full of plotholes and no glorious moments like Supe's landing with the plane in the stadium in Superman Returns. Didn't care at all for Lois Enchanted. Jor-El was great, I wish there was a whole movie shot on Krypton with him and no Superman.

Re: Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
I saw it last night, it was an OK film but I found it a bit dull. I think it was all the flashback sequences just slowed the film down. The action was a videogame-esque quicktime event orgy, too much for my tastes. A bit better than Superman Returns, but that's not saying much. The audience seem to feel the same, I never been to film where so many people where up an about walking to and forth to the washroom. I'll stick with the 80's Superman and Superman II for now.
Weird thing every time I saw Superman I kept thinking of Don Draper (from Mad Men) and was expecting him to have a whisky in one hand and woman on the other Maybe they should have cast him as Sup's Kryptonian Father.
EDIT: How could I forget... no John Williams Superman theme, made me quite sad

They need to fix his hair. Haven't had the "S" curl since Reeves.

Re: Seeing "Man Of Steel" tonight
I don't see the point of watching this movie. Aren't they just rebooting Super Man, the same movie over and over?
