Yeah, if Megatron doesn't win by at least 4 votes on here, I'm gonna have to answer to the queen-rex himself...

Guess I could vote on Seibertron too, but I haven't been there since making my account, and I don't know if this is worth recovering my password for. Plus, I've already voted on here & TFW, so I wouldn't even feel right about leaving my primal seed on a forum I never go to.

Re: Transformers Hall of Fame Official Vote

I have to admit, I'm baffled by this Minerva deal. More baffled than Erector, cause at least I knew that was a joke! Minerva, apparently, was the first female transformer figure, which is great and everything, but that really is of big significance, I don't think. It just feels like a coincidence, she happened to be first. If this is about giving females an extra look, why not the first properly developed female character: Blackarachnia. It just seems that it would mean more. It's saying we want more well developed female characters and not... i don't even know what Minverva stands for.

I understand Swindle, and I absolutely understand Beast Wars Megatron (as i have voted for him) but I'm really trying to figure out minerva.

I wouldn't say she's just a coincidence, given her role in the Masterforce series. Noone seems to know for sure who came first, Minerva or Nightbeat (if, indeed, one did predate the other). Which means that either a female character and figure was developed in Japan, and then deemed unsuitable for the american market and changed, or an american figure was deliberatedly changed to become a female character for the Japanese series. Either possibility is intriguing, given the conditions at the time.

I'd encourage you to read up on Minerva and to watch Masterforce, because she's a compelling and interesting character from a show that took a truly unique take on Transformers.

Re: Transformers Hall of Fame Official Vote

Well to me, I think the best way to answer that question for myself will be to watch the series or read the comics (assuming she's represented well enough here). Anything less really wouldn't do a character justice, especially this late into the fandom. Like, I remember Bludgeon being the scariest motherfucker ever when I was a kid via the few comics I had with him, even to the point of seeing G1 Megatron on tv & just shrugging him off. My guess is that fans of Minerva have similar memories, be it on the different side of things, given that she's quite a bit cuddlier.
