GSP Vs Koscheck 2 ***SPOILER***
So, who saw the GSP/Koscheck fight last night ? Were you impressed with the fight ? I watched it live on PPV, and man, as bad as I wanted Georges to knock Josh out, I was still happy he got a dominant win ! Can you imagine what a disappointment it would have been if GSP lost at home in front of that crowd ?!?!??? It would have been awesome if GSP would have knocked him out with a head kick or a Superman punch, but still, a dominant performance that shows why GSP is the best in his division, perhaps the best in UFC. I bet the streets of Montreal were something else last night, maybe some of our members on here were lucky enough to attend ?
So now, what's next for GSP ? He's cleaned out his weight class, is he ready to move up to middleweight ? Or do you think he should give Jake Shields a shot at the title ? Personally, I don't think Shields stands a chance, not after seeing Georges's gameplan executions in the past.
Last, I'd like to say that Georges St. Pierre is a true Champion's Champion ! He's so classy, calm and confident, and he always talks highly of his opponents, even after the challenger's trash talk leading up to the fight, although we know that Josh was just playing it up for the hype and the crowd, yet still, Georges says kind words and gives praise to his opponent, now that's what you call a true Champion !
BRAVO Georges St. Pierre, BRAVO

When Georges St. Pierre was put into the mix for most famous Canadian athlete, his manager said, "Gretzky is more famous in North America but GSP is more famous worldwide."

Vagina Eye.
GSP broke Koscheck's orbital bone.
GSP probably does need to move up after he destroys Shields, but I personally like dominant champs. I hope he beats Hughes' 9 time WW champ record. He's at 7 (the interim one doesn't count) so a few more and he'll have it!

Isn't Jake Shields next up for the title shot?
I was impressed with Shield's submission techniques in his last match, despite how tired and poor conditioned he was because of the weight cut. I am very much interested in the next match to see what a submission specialist can do against GSP, after seeing what a knockout specialist tried to do last night. I don't know what Koscheck could of done differently, their wrestling skills were very comparable, and that quick jab of GSP kept him out of range from Koscheck's knockout power. Very interested in what GSP and Shield's game plans are for their fight.
I was kinda worried before the fight, Koscheck looked like he really got in GSP's head and GSP was so pumped up for this fight that he might of been overzealous and Koscheck could of taken advantage. Glad that wasn't the case, shame on me for doubting Canada's finest.
And I was really glad to see how classy Koscheck was afterwards in defeat. That's one of the things I love to see, is the respect that is shown after it is all over.

Re: GSP Vs Koscheck 2 ***SPOILER***
Shields game plan will be to take GSP down and sub him. GSP's would be to keep it standing. At least that's what I figure. I can't remember how good Shields' guard game is like, but GSP had no problems getting into Serra and Penn's guard. (Though to be fair, Serra never subbed anyone in the UFC, top or bottom, and Penn is more effective when he's on top). So depending on how the fight is going, GSP may be comfortable going into Shields' guard.

Re: GSP Vs Koscheck 2 ***SPOILER***
I don't think Shields deserves a shot at the title myself, not yet anyway. He just started in the UFC, and even though he has a good record in other organizations, he only fought one UFC competitor and barely won. I think he should have to work his way up and fight some of GSP's former challengers first to see if he's able to take them out before stepping up to the Champ. And regardless of Shields' groundwork and submission specialty, others have tried the same with GSP, Penn and Koscheck as excellent, proven UFC examples, and Georges beat the living sh*t out of them both, so I'm confident that Shields won't be anythinig other than a stepping stone for GSP. I also agree that Georges should stay in the Welterwight division and work on securing a record for most wins as champ. He'd do well against middleweights for sure, but I'd want to put my name in the record books as the best of the best before moving on to a bigger, more challenging class. The last thing he should want to do now is lose in a heavier weight class while being the champ in another, because no matter if he's the best in one class, he'll then be known as the guy who couldn't step up. It's definitely gonna be interesting to see what this "new chapter in his career" is going to look like for sure !

Re: GSP Vs Koscheck 2 ***SPOILER***
For me title shots are a mix of who is deserving, but also about new opponents. If you look at who is really deserving, Fitch is hands down. But I'm not interesting in seeing GSP/Fitch II. Even though I know Shields would get stomped, I'd rather see that.
But yah, I agree Shields hasn't done enough to warrant a title shot. I personally believe his ranking is inflated. If the UFC put him in with Kos, Fitch or Alves, any one of those guys would destroy him. I think Shields would have trouble with Penn even. Which is why the UFC won't make those fights before GSP/Shields. The gap of skill between GSP and the rest of the WW division is enormous.
