Re: Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)

Are you priming before you're painting? I'm seeing a lot of inconsistencies in the surface finish prior to the paint application.

Keep in mind priming serves 2 purposes:
1) To make everything the same matte tone so that surface defects can be see and therefore repaired (and back to priming again).
2) To allow a better surface for paint to adhere to.

I have been yes.....that may be the light. But if you're looking at the amber parts, they look off because I brushed chrome silver and then painted the amber over top.

Re: Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)

methinks freedom gundam means certain areas like just above the wheel flares/arches.but to me it looks like you just need to do a touch more fine sanding/knocking down of the filler or glue you used to add the rectangle chunks with the pipes before priming/painting.
95% of the job is prep work bro

Re: Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I come from a strong Gundam-model-building background, so surface prep before any paint is applied is incredibly important.

Keep up the good work, though; like Chans clarified for me, looks like you just need to sand down your glue/filler a little more before painting.
