Well I am impressed with the Sci-Fi guest stars list for this year.

With last year's debacle still fresh in my mind...this pops up for this year...
Ticket prices for 2011

I remember the days of $20 admission per day and $35 deluxe pass for the 3 days.

This news puts a damper on my enthusiasm to go this year...$40 admission is probably nothing compared to other huge conventions, but this feels like a money grab. Especially since guests' autograph prices have been on the rise lately.

It's like only the truly obsessed and rich can attend. With that said...how many of you with loads of cash plan on the deluxe pass or attending more than 2 days or even the Premium Package?

Other thoughts...
-The fact that they added an extra day is awesome to spread out the attendance IMO.
-I'm going to assume they're not expanding the space used for the convention.
-with 4 days now, are they going to spread all their guests out to force you to attend more than 1 day? (I know, I know, I'll have to wait till the pre-lim schedule preview shows up in the mail)
-do you think this new structure will hurt their attendance this year?

As for me, I'll be waiting to see how many of my guests are scheduled for Saturday before I make my decision.

Ouch! $40... mmm depending on the schedule I might go on Thursday or maybe Sunday. Huge list of guests, but my hopes they get the ComicCon Exclusives again this year

Oh right, I forgot to mention that the explosion of people attending last year was probably due to heavy hitter names...

Just my theory.

This year is good, but I feel it's not as uber-awesome as last year's guests, thus attendance may not be as uber-insane.

Yeah, I'm definitely not getting the deluxe pass...TOO freaking expensive. I'm considering going Thursday and Sunday myself, but I need to wait and see the schedule first.

I'm REALLLLY hoping the SDCC exclusives make their way over like last year, I really want that Voyager Prime!

As for the guests, I'm mostly interested in the Gaming guests, those are gonna get high propriety for me, but my guest list is looking like:

Anime guests aren't gonna be HUGE priorities for me, if I can see'em great, if I can't...meh.

Question for FanExpo vets: Do I have to pay for gaming guests?

I am very disappointed with this year's Anime line-up.Is it possible that I can be in a FanExpo where I don't have to see Vic Mignogna and Brad Swaile...granted their nice guys and fun to hang with,but....as a person who wants more diversity in her Voice Actors,this does come off as a little annoying.Oh well,they have Chris Sabat this year.

As well,I am proud to say that I convinced my best friend to come with me for the weekend since she started becoming a fan of Martin Landau (She stumbled upon the Mission Impossible series a few months ago) and the Smallville actors were just a bonus for her.

But it's going to be a very expensive year for me.Not only since the prices are going up,it will be the first time where I am going to pay for autographs.Not only with Landau and Henriksen,but with Sean Austin,Kevin Sorbro,Malcom McDowell...and judging by the new guests this week,there's going to be more in the future.FanExpo last year was very overwhelming,so I wouldn't be surprised that I might go three days instead of the usual two.

Personally I would think that last year's debacle would be more of a deterrent for people than the prices. I know my girlfriend and I, as well as some of my friends have no intention of going to that con again after last year. I'm sure we're not the only ones that felt it left a bad taste in their collective mouths.
