Re: The Hotel Staff

I also had issue with really slow (or completely absent) staff every time I went to the Quest lounge. They also cleaned my room and took out the "quiet" sign from my door when I wasn't there.

Re: The Hotel Staff

I have to agree - would have liked the dinner menu in effect at lunch. Was not aware it wasn't until I got my bill.

And yeah, the service was very much a matter of "if you want something you need to track them down" when the bar got busy. When I was buying drinks for people Sunday night I had to track down our server to make sure I got them ordered in a timely fashion - though she was very nice about it, that said.

Service basically struck me as "once you've ordered or made a request, fairly prompt, but actually getting someone to come over in the first place was tricky when busy."

Re: The Hotel Staff

I'm really happy with the special dinner menu. I liked that there were things like salad on it.

I also want to say the Quest staff were really awesome and made me some cheese-free nachos since I can't have dairy. Changing the recipe is a pain in the butt so I was really grateful for that.

I do think there's a time in the night when the staff is really overworked. I left my email address with the hotel, because they never did bill me for my food from Saturday night, which I'd actually signed and charged to the room for, and given that I ate it, I want to do the ethical thing and pay for it. I don't know if this can be helped - if they have any extra staff to put on - but 10-1 on Friday and Saturday were crazy times.

Re: The Hotel Staff

I thought the hotel staff were pretty excellent! The Quest bar folks were clearly disorganized however, and when I asked for a coffee on Sunday I was offered bottom-of-the-pot tepid dishwater instead, I was less than impressed. :/

Re: The Hotel Staff

We used the Tfcon menu for lunch on Saturday. They had them right on some of the tables.

And at 8:10 this morning housekeeping showed up at our door to clean the room again.

I had no complaints with the Quest Bar staff. All were nice and approachable (one of the barkeeps actually remember me from last year). I didn't mind the food service times due to being deep in conversation.

One thing I would complain though was that they would be a bit more diligent on cleaning up tables, such as the one Venus Terzo and I were sitting for lunch.

Re: The Hotel Staff

Yes there seems to be a common thread here on the table service at the bar/restaurant but at the same time I think TFCon just might be their busiest nights of the year all the staff might have been on hand. I know when in my experiences at the bar I just tried to pick the cleanest table, all the wait staff came by one by one while one was getting our drinks so there seems to be no set section per waiter/waitress like in a regular restaurant maybe if we ordered from each person as they came by the drinks would've kept flowing at the same time they probably saved me a few bucks too The menu was great, there was a small mix up in our order when my GF and I ate there Saturday night but the pop was free both nights so I left a nice tip for that.

All in all I feel for those people and commend them not condemn them for doing a very thankless job. I didn't see the restaurant manager on hand, I just think they needed someone like that to organize them.

I thought we thank them with tips?

Better/faster service = better tips

Unless that's an outmoded concept because I'm old-school...

Re: The Hotel Staff

My waitress at breakfast chased me down to give me back my wallet, instead of waiting for me to work through proper channels. I appreciated that A LOT.

I left a tip for every meal, more because I don't want them to get the impression that we are all a bunch of cheapskates.
