I wasn't doing a lot of brick-and-mortar TF shopping at the time Rodimus came out, but every single time I wen to Lansdowne they had at least 2 for the better part of a month. By contrast, when Grimlock came out I was making more stops at TRU and only saw Grimlock a handful of times. There was one instance where Bowmac got a dozen or so and it took about a week for him to sell out. I don't know that Rodimus sold poorly in absolute terms, but Grimlock flew off shelves significantly faster (though not as fast as Skywarp).

I'm very surprised that Hasbro would have such poor distribution for their flagship Transformer character at the time of year where they sell the most toys. MP Optimus should have been downright plentiful in the lead-up to Xmas, but instead we still have a long list of collectors who couldn't get one (myself included). I suppose it's probably more TRU's fault for not ordering enough of them, or sending 95% of them out east or something.

And don't get me started on Bumblebee...

Yeah, I guess when it comes to MPs 'shelfwarming' is a relative term. Totally agreed, Hasbro's (or TRU's) distribution for these figures is ridiculous. I guess they figure kids will want Dragon Prime instead...

I don't think Year Of the Dragon Prime is very popular around here that's for sure...

I guess the principle of diminishing returns comes to mind now.
That is the reason why I stayed away from 3rd Party figures but not 3rd party weapons like JB Warfare and Corbot V. I find its just too expensive, even though they these parties do a great job engineering the figures, it really does make collecting harder. When I got my first 3rd party add on (battle tanker) I sold it as soon as I realized what path I may be putting myself into.

I was pretty selective too but the only movie figure I'm keeping is my Skyhammer and probably repainting Shockwave (learning experience) then again they are the only 2 I currently have... I am however, very tempted by that Jetwing Prime for it's damn price and awesomeness... -_-

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat

For the second time I have downsized my collection (sold off all the CHUG stuff), I am left with a small MP collection which I plan sticking with. I still have my 3rd Party combiner collection, still on the fence about keeping them. Super tough right now... may wait till after January to figure things out.

When I first sold off my collection (3rd party was still in its beginning stages), I got rid of my MIB Alt/BT/KP, Classics, MIB MP's and G1's. I regret selling off MIB Alt/BT/KP and MIB MP's. Now I am slowly trying to get those back as I really miss having them and displaying them. Seeing all these 3rd combiners is making it tough on what to collect b/c they are soooo friggin cool.

Nah... A few years back they had Universe Voyagers for $10. There was a mad scramble because Inferno and Vector Prime didn't make it out to the West Coast.
