Re: Passing of the TF legacy to a chosen one :)

If I go soon, I assume my wife would have my son and daughter take care of the collection. As they get older they would decide what is best for it. (I really like the idea of a sale to go to a charity or hospital, great idea Jeff)

If I make it longer I would probably do the same. The way that I see it, my kids have first dibs, but I will not fault them if they want to just get rid of them (sell em, whatever...) This was my passion and I don't want to make them feel like they have to do the same.

I don't have kids, nor do I intend to have any, so there won't be anyone to pass them onto. At this point, my husband and I could put into a will that the proceeds of our estate go to start a small museum...but time will tell. That day is a long way off.

Imagine being 90, in an old folks home, with a room FULL of Transformers! Let the nurses figure out what to do with "the old man's" toys.

Re: Passing of the TF legacy to a chosen one :)

In a perfect world Viking Funeral, I know someone joked about this already but I am dead serious.(no pun intended)

Most likey it all goes to my oldest nephew so far. I have no heirs of my own so I made him my offical heir. If and when I do have kids, they can do with them whatever they want. I'm dead and my passion dies with me so I couldn't care less what happens to them once I'm gone.

Hopefully, no matter the outcome, the TFs find there way into the hands of a collector that will continue to care for my plastic crack. I hope to go with old age so these things will be around 75 years old. That's history and it would be a shame for them to just end up in a dump.

Thanx

I'm definitely keeping my collection for all of eternity. Death really isn't in on my to-do list. I figure I'll get old and then just have my consciousness uploaded into... a giant transforming robot!

Seriously, some of you plan to die in the next 150 years (and more)?? Personnaly, i want to be alive to see the first real autonome Transformers, build by human or coming from outer space.

I don't know what i'll do with my collection. There are many options like give it to my son, sell it on ebay or the collector market and give the money for some children related charity (research, children hospital...). From now to there my small collection will continue to grow up.

Its probably going to be my son's inheritance. Otherwise, I expect my wife to sell it off. She pretty much knows the value of everything ... unfortunetly ...

Re: Passing of the TF legacy to a chosen one :)

I'm already strongly considering giving away most of my Transformers to my cousins' children. My mom would rather I wait until I have my own kids and give them to them, but by that time I figure there will be way better toys available. The very small collection I have is nice, but it doesn't bring me the same satisfaction it used to.
