Re: Transformers Asia Reissue of Hasbro Masterpiece Optimus Prime
Regardless of which policy Automaton has, I think we can understand why they would have cancellation charges. They order certain amount of product in advance and if they have 20 people cancel their preorders, they can be stuck with a large number of leftovers that they need to clear out or go broke over, which they might have to sell at a sale price of even more than 15% off to get rid of, which could be a huge loss for a small retailer. With the volume of business BBTS does, they can probably sell them off more easily with, or without, a discount. Unfortunately, there are downsides to the smaller market in Canada that consumers and retailers have to deal with. Let's not hate on places for some of these policies that they need to be able to survive.
I have dealt with Automaton before and not had any problems with them, as well as have cancelled some orders without penalty from their old policy. In Mario's defence, when they had the change to the price of the upcoming MP-08X King Grimlock because of the throne accessory, he sent out emails to people who had already preordered to notify them of the change and allow for cancellations without penalty.
