Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
We have been trying to keep up on all the news here:
www.echobase.ca
Canonically speaking it is kinda funny that Darth Maul is officially alive while Boba might not be

Re: Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
To me, the only parts of Star Wars that aren't canon are the Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith and all the Clone Wars stuff. They are dead to me and do not exist.
To me, Star Wars is the orginal trilogy and all the time and merchandise I invested into comics and novels in the EU. That's what's canon to me.

That's too bad, the clone wars cartoon is amazing, better than all the EU garbage. :P

Really?
Give the Thrawn Trilogy a try. It kickstarted interest in STAR WARS leading up to the theatrical release of the (hit and miss) Special Editions.
Keep an open mind and unlearn what you have learned about the EU.

The New Jedi Order series was great to, but you have to read it.
The clone wars was a great cartoon, yes.
They may be throwing us off with the canon comment, I hope.
The Corellien Series and Jedi academy series was great too!
I just can't see them going off on another tangent with all this material and now, history out there.
I know Lucas originally talked about continuing the series, when he made the first three, he would go back and do the first 3 then the last three.
Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future is

There is only one Clone Wars story that matters in my expanded universe. Funny how Lucas had nothing to do with it and it won accolades. Now that Lucas is pretty much out of the picture, I'm hoping we'll get a decent new trilogy so I can "erase" the prequels from my memory

Not sure who anyone on this new cast is, so it is hard to given an opinion. I have much respect for JJ so I'm sure it will be great though.
Also, Fett was cool looking, but died a chump. Deal with it.

Binge watching The Clone Wars (thanks to NETFILX) and I like what I see and feel though I still pefer the Cartoon Network microseries from 10 (!?) years ago.
The Prequels and The Clone Wars will always be a "suggested past" to me though. Just like everything after Terminator 2: Judgement Day did not actually happen. Or how only Alien and Aliens suits me just fine.
I guess when it comes to resisting the canonized prequels and cartoons you can't win, but there are alternatives to fighting, like picking and choosing what you really do believe in from the rich history of the franchise.
