Nightwatch Leader Prime: To Preorder or Wait until General Release?

Hey, just wondering if I should preorder the Nightwatch Optimus Prime for $50 at Fantofan or just wait 'til general release and try to buy it from an american TFW member.

It's just such an awesome recolour (sort of an unofficial Ultra Magnus repaint).

I know Movie Leaders go for $40 US while we get ripped off at $70 CAD here

Problem is that I don't know if this repaint is going to be a hot seller or not.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

I wouldn't even bother, I don't like the deco at all.

I think that this repaint and the brawl one will go on sale after release since many people who wanted these got the originals and very few casual or new collectors will want them if they aren't movie accurate in colour.

if you can preorder him for 68$ canadian or cheaper, do it.

TRU might sell its leader class toys for 70$, but Zellers sells them for 60$.

...Unless you wait a long ass time for it to go on clearance, if it ever does.

Personally, I'll wait to buy it either at 40$ US plus decent shipping online, or for 60$ here at Zellers.

BBTS has the current Leader Movie toys at $48US, only $8 more than retail, seems to be a fair deal.

However, I don't know if they'll be getting it or not, and whether it will be the same price or sell out within a few hours.

Also, does anyone know if FantoFan lowers the declared value of their shipments and marks them as gifts or not? I know HLJ does not do that, but I don't know about Fan-to-Fan.

If Prime is one of your favourite characters, go for it! If you can wait, I would wait.

As for repaints in general, I find them to be "hit & miss". I usually only buy them if I love the figure or character.

I do like the Jazz repaints though... especially "Final Battle Jazz" since it has a different weapon.
