Looking to sell off parts of my collection, how to value?

hey guys, looking to sell off parts of my collection, but not sure how to value them. I've looked on BBTS, Ebay and Amazon to try to get an average price, and have had some success locally selling for the asking price. Now I'm finding they are moving slower so I might consider shipping them out to online buyers.

Re: Looking to sell off parts of my collection, how to value?

Valuation of a Transformers can be a tricky thing. It depends a lot on multiple factors such as:

Supply (how many are out there to buy)
Demand (How many are out there buying)
Series
Rarity
Condition
Completeness

Doing a search for completed eBay transactions will give you a general idea in terms of whats selling and for what price. However, make sure you are comparing apples to apples. A Sealed item typically fetches more money than an Opened item.

As for selling, these boards are a good start to sell stuff within Canada with some US collectors buying here and there. Take into consideration that since you are new to the site, most if not all buyers are going to want to pay through some means that provides protection in case you're not trustworthy. (i.e. Paypal not as a gift payment).
