Just don't want to admit you're wrong, right?

The paint apps on the face on the Takara one look hideous. And seriously, wtf is up with the gray waist? It looks out of place.

I was considering getting the Takara one to finally fill that hole in my collection. Thank you for the side by side xueyue2, I'm not making that mistake.

Hasbro doesn't win too many of these but I'll have to agree that Takara messed this one up.... but we're getting off the rails here.

Mint boxed g1 thundercracker to complete my seekers

Re: What is your 'White Whale'?

I have three:
1. MP-7 Thundercracker, I have Wal-warp and Takara's USA Edition Starscream on display in jet mode, I need TC to complete the trio. The MP-11's I keep in bot mode.

I just can't blow $300-400 on an MP figure right now. Still trying to figure out what glue some EBay sellers are sniffing, trying to sell him for $1000+ when he never goes for more than $400.

2. MP-1S Sleep Mode Convoy, same as above, I just can't afford him right now, even if I could find one. I need a Sugar Momma!

3. G1 Trypticon, I know there's the reissue but I have well loved originals of Fort Max, Scorponok, and Metroplex and I don't want a shiny reissue throwing everything off.

The Takara version actually doesn't looks as good as Hasbro one this time.
2 issues on Takara.
#1, the face painting, you can see the difference below.
#2, the thighs of Takara Arcee doesn't have paint, so looks really fat.
Agreed, Takara's Arcee is too "Creepy Doll" looking for me. She's unarguably more Toon accurate but not in a good way. The Movie based 5-pack Platinum Edition Arcee looks way better to me, but I'm more than happy with the first Hasbro version.

Re: What is your 'White Whale'?

For me its apollyon. Everytime i see him for a good ddeal im. Wither previously engaged in anothgher deal or flat broke.
Also same goes for.i timidator. Ive had the set in progress twice! First time just tbone and diesel. Second time diesel tbone and carcrash but never ever ever can i find downforce to complete the set before i have to sell them again.
Now i see a complete set for 250...great price... and im flat broke once again.

I just snagged a ko version of that mp for 60 bucks. And honestly the quality is better than the regular official one. Youd never guess it was a ko.
Imo i beleive the whole lot of kos are actuallyy made by the same people who makebthe real ones and just do it after hours or at the end of runs when production wraps up and there are extra parts made that are not included in the daily required quota and would normally be scrapped before the next days shift.
These are then sold to a side distributor directly from the manufacturer and not through takara sales reps. Some are hastily put together but most are either factory leftovers or unfinished product that someone grabs and completes.

Unless your talking the original g1 diaclone in which case everything i said is pointlessbto the discussion...
My bad.
