I have to agree that the Energon stuff is about as close as I have ever seen. They are the only ones I have ever actually thought-WOW these are exactly like the cartoon.

And well Masterpiece is accurate in a way that I like, and since I am completely bias about G1 accuracy, even though Energon is the closest, I still vote MP haha

Yep, gonna join the consensus here. Animated and FE Prime are where it's at. The voyager FE Optimus still blows my mind. That bot mode... so good!!!! Some of the later Prime figs like Wheeljack and Breakdown were also right on the money.

That's kind of boring though, because didn't they just use the toy models in the cartoon? What I find impressive about Animated and Prime is that they took incredibly detailed character designs (that often looked nothing like their alt modes!) and made them fit into physical toys. It's the best magic trick that transformers can do.
