Combiner Wars G2 Bruticus mold changes?
I got G2 Bruticus yesterday. I never got regular Onslaught, but I do have Hot Spot. Were his knees changed? Are they misassembled? They're not behaving the same as Hot Spots did.
Anyone else notice this or am I just a dumb dumb?

Might be the same issue as Victorion...

Re: Combiner Wars G2 Bruticus mold changes?
In Pyra Magna (torso), the knees that have those double-joints have this weird tab that doesn't let them lock in.
I heard from WTF@TFW that this was done for stability in combined mode, but it means that Pyra's knees are kind of loose.
I don't have any Onslaught, but I have Hot Spot, and it doesn't have this, and the knees are much more solid.

If you look, the tab on Pyra Magna vs Hot Shot/Onslaught is installed BACKWARDS. The little nub is on all versions of the mold, but an assembly error for Pyra doesn't allow her knee joints to correctly transform in robot mode.
I can't speak for G2 Onslaught, but I have the regular Onslaught and the knee struts function identically to Hot Spot.
Here's a site that shows the Magna error and a couple fixes. http://brickonator.tumblr.com/post/1...magna-knee-fix
Here's a photo from TFformers that shows the error:

Okay, I just dug out Hot Spot, and they are, in fact assembled differently. There are pins involved, so I'm not sure how fixible it is. I will try to futz when I have more time and report back.
I don't want to just trim the funny tab off, because it does provide internal support when in combined mode.

Let me know if you come up with anything. I'm probably going to trim it but now that you mention it I want to take a closer look at how it interacts in torso mode. =P

Damn it, I have no idea how to deal with pins... looks like he might stay misassembled.

Don't try to do anything with the pins. No matter what you do it won't work. I tried eveything like that on Victorion and no matter what it wouldn't work. I did actually shave off the small peices and it didn't affect anything. She is perfectly stable without them

Yeah, pin=bad news.
I trimmed, he's better now. The little tab thing DOES provide some internal support when the leg is collapsed, but it was very minor and not missed. And it wasn't doing it's job when it was in backwards anyways.
Thanks for the info, everyone!
