Re: Booze for Sale in Manitoba Theaters

Wonder if it will be like Alberta, where they serve beer and wine and coolers, but there is a small shitty lounge area that you must drink in. Nobody ever buys booze at the theater, because you can't take it into the movie with you. That and probably theater pricing. No idea how much it costs, probably a limb or something.

It sounds as if it would be right in select theaters from the description. For instance 2 screens at a multiplex would be wet, but the booze wouldn't be allowed out of those areas into the rest of the complex.

I wasn't aware that they had something similar in Alberta, so much for the radio station I heard the news on sayig it would be the first in Canada.

I wish they served Beer in theatres here. I would probably go more often.

It came and went I believe. Shawnessy had a place before it switched to Empire and Chinook may still have it.

I have to ask though: how much of an alcoholic do you have to be to in order to drink in a movie theater?

Sure they have it at Broadway plays, but they also have intermissions and pretentious people so it makes sense…

Edit, just read Ian's post... lol sorry man.

Like I said, the implementation is so braindead stupid that you're better off not knowing XD

In Chinook, they have a bar section just to the left of where you line up for IMAX (where you Exit the IMAX) and behind the bar, which never has staff, is a half-assed (thats an understatement) lounge area with a couple couches and a TV playing X sport. Booze is not allowed to leave that area, you can't watch your movie with a beer.

Maybe by "first in Canada" they meant that you can take your beer into the movie with you. If that were the case, then grats on your theaters being better than the rest of Canada!

Re: Booze for Sale in Manitoba Theaters

I think alcohol would have made Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer a much better movie.
