Optimus Prime - Masterpiece (Hasbro) Review

Optimus Prime - Masterpiece (Hasbro) Review

Here is my review for Masterpiece Optimus Prime (or MP-01). This figure doesn't come with a trailer, but one was produced (MP-01OP), and I show that at the end of the video along with a size comparison between the Masterpiece figure and the regular G1 Optimus. I hope you "Like" it!

Not a bad outing. I recommend you use a little more diffused lighting so everything can be clearly seen.

Also a little correction: Your MP01-OP trailer is a third party product made my JustiToys and not an official Takara item.

The first official trailer for MP-01 came with MP-04 Masterpiece Convoy "Perfect Edition".

Still, any MIB Masterpiece for under $50 is a score indeed!

Thanks for the clarity on those two points. For all these years I've thought I had a Masterpiece Trailer, but I guess it makes sense. It doesn't open up or have any "transforming" qualities to it. It just looks good.

The lighting has been an issue, and I'm striving to correct it. I shoot my videos in my basement, and there isn't much I can do with the lights down there.

I was offered a short stacked, battle damage-deco'd Hasbro MP Prime for free a couple years ago but I opted for an MP-04 because I missed out on the 3rd Party MP trailer that did open up like the original:

Part of me regrets having spent 3 times as much money than if I had opted for the free Prime and ordered the Dallianjj trailer in time...oh well.

BTW, you ever considering getting the longer smokestacks for your MP Prime? A3U had them for a while and they often show up on eBay from time to time.
