Wonder Festival 2016

A better look at MP-31 Optimus Primal! What say you? A more reason to be excited, in my opinion.

Waiting for the oversize Weijang version with die-cast!

(Getting that thing right when it gets released.)

Re: Wonder Festival 2016

I think Optimus Primal looks great, and I'm thrilled that he's in scale with Generations Rhinox and Rattrap -- which in a way retcons those two figures into a pseudo-MP class themselves. (They were already fantastic updates to their original toys to begin with.)

Looking at the UW Bruticus, I was initially bummed they would get a shuttle version of Blast Off that we wouldn't, but damn. What's up with that Blast Off? I don't remember him having bright orange all over him in G1. The bot arms are in full view sitting on the side of the alt mode. And the tail fin is clearly a removeable piece, which cheats the part of the transformation where the fin moves from the rear of the shuttle to the bot mode's back. Not even an armature. Takara went to the trouble of making a brand new mold, and yet... I'm having trouble seeing it as an improvement even if it is ostensibly more G1 than Hasbro's fighter jet Blast Off (which at least has the right coloring).

You're right, although they try to make the arms double as a missile rack in that mode.

Still it's a new mold, do u realize how rare new mold is for the repaint-wars?

Re: Wonder Festival 2016

Do you consider Swindle and Hound repaints or remolds?

You make it sound like this is something new they are doing. They've been doing this since G1.

Of course, and new molds are welcome. I'm just underwhelmed by this one.

Re: Wonder Festival 2016

To be honest the pics of Brutcius aren't that great so I'm sure they will look much different when the coloured figures are out or when in hand. I'm not down with the Optimus Primal but I'm really looking forward to UW Bruticus
