One Christmas my 2 brothers and I took our pooled Christmas money to Consumers Distributing to buy all 5 Predacons. They only had 3 (Divebomb, Rampage, Headstrong). We figured we'd find the other 2 later. We never did
(until I put a Predaking together a couple decades later of course).

Best memory of CD? Bought an engagement ring there. Last day of going-out-of-business sale for a fancy mall location one that had a big jewelry counter. Got like 80% off original price, but it was a "I have $700 to my name, this let me get a $3000 ring", not "saved 80% and spent it on myself" story

She said yes, she knows the story, she thinks it's awesome.

Another random anecdote: I'm not a dwarf, my mother had me tested.
Seriously, I was so small as a toddler that she had me tested.
Doc said no dwarfism, but I'd never reach 5 ft tall.

Made it to 5'5".

Re: G1 Jetfire bullets/missiles

My Jetfire never had missiles. I always thought that it was funny that his gun seemed set up to hold missiles but he never came with any.

Re: G1 Jetfire bullets/missiles

It's very possible the missiles you remember for your Jetfire just came from another toy and worked due to luck of the draw

A lot of G1 1984/1985 toys were gutted of their Diaclone/Microman counterparts springs and missiles and Jetfire was no different. Hot on the heals of a 1981-1982 Boba Fett missile child death, Hasbro didn't want to mess around.

I'm 5'3" so now you've got me wondering if I'm a dwarf or maybe even a Hobbitt. All the older kids in my son's Scout troop tower over me but can any of those giraffes make it all the way to Mordor and back??? No way Misterfrodo.

I concur.

I distinctly remember opening up Jetfire back in the day, frantically searching through the foam tray and box for the missile that surely fit in his gun. I soon ceased my quest, crestfallen, when it became clear the spring had been factory removed from the gun. Oh, how my 80's latch-key self prayed to Primus for a Jetfire gun that shot projectiles. Thankfully my prepubescent self soon focused on Heather Locklear from T.J. Hooker.

Re: G1 Jetfire bullets/missiles

So I've become fairly certain that there WAS indeed a run of G1 Jetfire in Transformers packaging released in Canada (and possibly the US?) during the original year of release. I just acquired a minty Jetfire from the CFO of one of our investors who had his TFs in the basement since 1987 or so. His Jetfire clearly came with 4 missiles , which fit in the gun and match the ones found in occasional Ebay auctions. Seems like I'm going to have to update the Jetfire listing on ShelfLife...

You are 100% correct. The Jetfire featuring firing missiles was a Consumer's Distributing exclusive. There's a boxed complete one for sale here locally, but if memory serves me he's asking $1500 for it due to the rarity.

Re: G1 Jetfire bullets/missiles

The 4 missels are vary narrow and thin as to fit the gun black in color,.... like a lot of the "first run" Transformers there were mistakes where diaclone / micomen were packaged,.. as we all know the rarer ones like the blue in blue streak (why back when actully seen this SIMB) or the differences between early primes to bumblejumpers, pop up from time to time to challange what we think we know about the release of these toys in the early days its nice to see another bit added here about this paticular piece and refreshing in the debate even 30 years later there are still unsolved ?, where the hell is Robert Stack when you need him.
