Beastwars 2 Tigerhawk Repaint

Well, it's certainly been awhile. Firstly, I have to apologize to the person who commissioned this..It took me a LOT longer to actually get going on this guy than I thought it would. It'd been probably over a year since I'd done my last repaint and it took awhile just to get my mind back into it..And then I actually saw the figure..and I had no real idea what I was going to do with it..he wanted the details brought out of a very plain colored figure..it had a lot of detail in all that off colored white plastic. Panel lining and ink washing have never really been my thing--But I said I'd do it, so, had to give it a try.

So, then I had to buy a second one, as the first try didn't go over so well.

So, I finally got into doing it some..And started panel lining him. And then I added some grey washing and added in some blackwash. And then more panel lining..And then some reds. And now I'm kinda back into doing him. And I want to do more..But I have no real idea how far I can take him before he nolonger looks like Tigerhawk. I wanted him to be dirty. Dark. Nolonger that bright white. He's not done yet--But he's getting there.

Actually..the blue is rather purple now..The chrome on the 2nd one was kinda flaked off..So I used a sharpie and it went on blue..and worked perfectly..and then kinda changed to purple for some reason..But I was told his show version was more purple than blue..?

Here's my version of TH with my WWI version. It's pretty much "show accurate", but i'm sure there are some alterations that can be done to it now a days. Use it for reference if you like.

it sucks learning the hard way with the first one,but the second one's shaping up pretty nice

I like how it's turning out and was gonna ask if you were gonna add the purple over the blue to make it more show accurate...and looks like you're on that path so now I sit back and wait for the end result.

Re: Beastwars 2 Tigerhawk Repaint

Thanks---So, like, I know Hasbro can cheap out and all..But how in the hell did they possibly get away with releasing a toy that was supposed to have so much gold in it..as just a plain unpainted white? I mean..jesus.
