Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion
I honestly think the problem with Transformers right now which you both touched on is number of lines they are trying to maintain. Growing up toys had mainly 1 line and would create sublines which still very much represented the main line.
Now companies are trying to hit every age group, every price point, and its becoming way to much.

Unfortunately, the philosophy isn't to create or maintain the long term viability of a brand or long term loyalty of customers. It's to milk everyone for what they're worth now to pump up the profits now, and to heck with the future. Because the executives that are there now, they'll move a long soon enough, and they'll use that bump in profits under their watch as leverage to a bigger pay check.
They can say, under their watch, profits double. Never mind they burned the candle at both ends and left nothing but a wasteland behind. They're over saturating the market, and it's not just with Transformers. If you're into collectible card games, Hasbro is doing it there too. Something has to give sooner or later.

The sad part is that this is exactly the same thing that could be said about our politicians.
As for TRU I'll say it again, it is a shame how far they have fallen.

When I look around the world now, I'm reminded of this Greek proverb. "A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit."
It's tragic about how far away from this as a world we are.

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion
Afterlife Ectotron on a sizable markdown from the TRU MSRP
$76.98 (down from $109.99)
(whether one considers this to be good value for Ectotron, is up to you)

Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion
Just saw that TRU has the first Deluxe Legacy wave for $44.99 each and some of them are gone...I guess price isn't a factor for some.
