I had placed a preorder for BB movie Soundwave, and just got the notification that he's been shipped. So it seems like they're actually shipping preorders on time which is a good sign

I have gotten $40-$50 items for $5 on Fridays in the past.
But they were some serious shelf sitters, which Cyclones is not best as I can tell.

I even found a Cobra Commander helmet for $20 on the site, in stock, but when I tried to check out it said out of stock. So they definitely have some stuff slipping through the cracks. Which can happen with so much product, at least they aren't as bad as Walmart.ca who had items listed 5 years after they were sold out (actually sold out, not 3rd party).
As Robimus said though, they do put some pretty pricey stuff on sale from time to time. Usually though it is just luck of the draw if there is any stock near you.

Sometimes there are stores that still have those items in stock, so just because you can't order it online, doesn't mean it's an error. Also, when items get marked down, and then sell out, the sale price is usually still shown, because there's no point updating the listing once it's gone.
