Glad it was a happy ending.

I still can't get over how they tried to charge you a restocking fee for something that you didn't even receive.

Scummy scummy practice from Northmen Collectibles.

Y'know, the thing is that I DO appreciate part of where he's coming from. I saw in a thread the other day a poster going "awesome, I'll order such and such from Amazon now and cancel my A3u order." And other folks who cancel orders cos FINALLY something shows up on Amazon or at TRU or WalMart. It's shitty to pull on a smaller retailer. So I absolutely get the frustration of his end.

The rest of it, eh, thread speaks for itself.

Not a restocking fee, a preorder cancellation fee.

Yeah it makes sense in theory, but when it takes almost a year to get something that all retailers ended up getting with no problem doesn't seem like a good time to enforce the rule.

This policy was totally up to his discretion and he chose the worst possible time to enforce it.

If you read the thread, you'll see that the seller got "I'm cancelling my order, I want a refund" without explanation.

He does state that if someone wants to cancel, he's open to it, but ask to provide a reason why.

After discussing with the seller, I got that if the buyer would have simply explained that the wait was simply too long and to either confirm it was coming or not, and if not, then could a refund be done, I don't believe we would have seen any of this drama.

Well even after the seller found out the reason he still refused to stand down. That's the whole reason this thread exists.

were.... you forced to view it? On threat of lashing, or something?

Anyhoo! Worth posting the update/resolution. The rest of the thread can stand for itself. Nothing in it goes against forum rules. It'll get pushed down the sidebar soon enough.

I'll fully own that I should have been more clear in my initial cancellation request. 100%. Lesson learned. And, I guess, make sure to read store policies with smaller buyers. But as you note, it... well, this thread. *shrugs*

Buy from them! Or don't! Whatever spins your windmill! =D
