Top ten figures of the year

Well 2022 is pretty much almost done, so what we're your top ten favourite figures of 2022, can be anything from mainline, masterpiece, legends, 3rd party. Here are mine

1. Haslab Star Saber. Qc issues aside he is a beautiful figure. Great joints and possibly great paint. Was well worth it.

2. Studio series 86 sludge. I didn't have any qc issues on mine, he is just a tremendous figure. Hard to put him down.

3. Legacy alpha trion. I know simple repaint and remold of scourge. But man he is so awesome looking. Love the headscuplt and vector sigma. This really surprised me

4. Legacy inferno. Just the best inferno ever. Moving mouth really makes him expressive. Season 1 preds complete

5. Legacy motormaster . Leaps and bounds better than cw motormaster

6. Legacy tarantulas. They just perfectly nailed him.

7. Legacy jhaxius . Prob one of the best engineered figures of any size class

8. Studio series 86 ironhide. I loved both siege and earthrise but hated the feet sticking out. This one feels and looks great in robot mode. But I feel like front of the vehicle looks better in er. Just the front.

9. Legacy cosmos. - love that they nail his look, of the tubby autobot.

10. Legacy rid scourge. Didn't get laser prime, because this was the figure, I wanted in this mold and he didn't disappoint. Love the colors

Re: Top ten figures of the year

In no particular order:

Velocitron Override - a surprisingly cool brand new figure, looks awesome

Legacy LaserOP / Velocitron Scourge - got both versions, a pretty cool guy

Velocitron RoadHauler - a bit cheating cause I already loved Kingdom Inferno last year, but this mold rules, and this guy got the AAAAAAAAA face

Gen Selects Black Zarak - best deco of the best titan-class so far, super cool

BuzzworthyBB SS86-13BB Cliffjumper / CreaturesCollide Goldbug - I love this mold, and these are the quintessential CJ & GB renditions

Legacy Dragstrip - a really sexy Dragstrip, easily trounces the CW

Studio Series 86-15 Sludge - just a really beautiful likeness, got him in dino mode perennially, too bad about the dino-belly undercarriage though

Velocitron Cosmos - ya OK he's really fun, and a great likeness - just wish he didn't need forearm-fillers, and the shoulder joint mechanism is a bit weak

Studio Series 86-11 Perceptor - haven't dabbled with him as much as I would like, but he looks amazing - beats the TR for me, for sure

- -

special mention goes to the Takara Selects Seacons; they're not 2022 release, but that's when I finally got ahold of a complete set this year, hell f*ckin ya, I love em

Also, various figures I've got that I haven't opened yet (Xmas presents etc) that I imagine would be on this list if I opened em:
- Haslab VictorySaber
- Legacy Tarantulas, Elita-1/Minerva, Jhiaxus
- Velocitron GalaxyShuttle? idk he looks fun but maybe I'm forgetting if Siege Astrotrain mold sucked, i don't think so though

Re: Top ten figures of the year

I think I have just about 10 Transformers related toys released in 2022.

1. Black Zarak. I wish it was taller than my Metroplex Generation 30.

2. Lego Optimus Prime. Looks weird beside my other figures because of the scale and design, but it is a great toy by itself.

3. SS86 Starscream. Amazing accessories and figure.

4. Soundblaster. A big and solid Voyager class with a great design.

5. Perceptor. I don't know why, but I just love that little guy.

6. SS86 Sludge. Mine is like most of the toys out there, it has the loosy goosy knees. I had to add some stuff in the ratchet like some posts suggested and it's perfecly fine now but still pretty annoying to have to fix it out of the box.

7. Toy deco Terrorsaur. It's nice and adds one more member in my predacon team.

8. Vintage Scorponok. Gotta love those gimmick.

9. ThreeZero MDLX Bumblebee. It doesn't transform but it looks great and posing it is super fun.

10. Cosmos.

I have still have Maverick in it's box so it doesn't count.

Re: Top ten figures of the year

https://tfwiki.net/wiki/2022#Toys

all toys released in 2022 if anybody needs the info.

No specific order:

* Golden Disk Terrorsaur. Astonishing retool of an already excellent toy. I've waited since 96 for a Terrorsaur that reflects his design in the show. Love him to bits.

* Legacy Tarantulas. GYAH HA HA HA HA

* Voyager Inferno. Just... damn. I don't even have him in hand, I don't care. Pics from my buddy, everything. He looks so fucking good.

* SS86 Sludge. The SS86 leader dinobots just keep on knocking it out of the park. I like Sludge the most of all three. My knees aren't too bad but I don't even care. BIG. CHONKY. SOLID. Stompy.

* GS Cyclonus. The Kingdom mold was excellent; good lord the toy deco is sexxxxxxxay. He looks so slick in hand.

* Legacy Goldbug. The VW mold is so very good, and the goldbug deco and head? *chef's kiss*

* TM2 megatron. It's not as good as the original toy, which is in my top 5 of all time. But it's very damn good, and a PROPER leader class toy with some sexy modern updates.

* Legacy Jhiaxus. A toy I had given up on ever getting a proper version of. And he is AWESOME. Big, real voyager size, super articulated, great deco, fun guns, and an enjoyable conversion. His alt mode appears all of twice in the G2 comic, so it's a bit fudgy; it's surprising how good they made it with all that. Bot mode comes first.

* Legacy Blaster. Technically his repack was 2022 so I'm counting him because he is awesome. Super fun toy, great deco, big ol' gun, Eject included, great little Eject. DOPE AF MOTHERFUCKAAAAA

* Legacy Cosmos. This one is somewhat tragic for me; I don't have him. I found him at Walmart, literally had no money for him, hid him... and he was gone the next day. So I don't own him. I NEED HIM. NEED TUBBY BOI

honorable mention ss86 arcee; it's fantastic how much they redid the terrific t30 mold to be more animation accurate. Other than that one guy on the boards who seems to think it's actually feasible to shrink her backpack to the animation model; not even MP did that.

Cool Re: Top ten figures of the year

Looks like I didn't snag as many new TFs for this year as I thought, though I certainly enjoyed the hell out of the ones that I did - enough to have a "10 Favorites" and a "10 Honorable Mentions", though neither list is in any particular order.

Favorites:
* Legacy TM2 Megatron
* Legacy Jhiaxus
* Legacy Velocitron RiD2000 Scourge
* Legacy Velocitron Override
* Legacy "Creatures Collide" Goldbug
* Studio Series '86 Ironhide
* Kingdom/Legacy Blaster (with Eject)
* Legacy core Shockwave
* Legacy "A Hero Is Born" Alpha Trion
* Studio Series '86 Perceptor

Honorable Mentions:
* Legacy Predacon Inferno
* Legacy Velocitron Galaxy Shuttle
* Legacy G2 Laser Optimus Prime
* Selects Cyclonus (with Nightstick)
* Selects Behold, Galvatron!
* Selects Black Zarak
* Buzzworthy Bumblebee Silverstreak (blue Bluestreak)
* Studio Series '86 Sludge
* Legacy Elita-1
* Legacy Tarantulas
* and a very left-field nom: R.E.D. G1 Shockwave
