So just as a community FYI as I didn't expect the pushback I got from TRU this weekend, they have updated their price adjustment policy sometime recently.
I went in for a price adjustment Origins Bumblebee as I had also bought him recently but was told they won't match it against Black Friday sales or any other "special sales" events any longer like Boxing Week, Cyber Monday, Friends & Family, or online only sales.
Sure enough, I went back home online and found the policy that the store manager referred me to:

On top of that, they no longer match prices for online purchases. If you bought from them online, you now also have to ask for your price adjustment online too and it might take up to 10 days to be processed.
Lastly, they took away price matching against competitors since October 15th. I had no idea until now.
Basically, they told me I had to return the one I already had and buy a new one, or wait until my return was done being held in quarantine for 2 days, then come back and re-buy it. The only other work around was to buy a 2nd one (assuming stock is available), then return the 2nd one with the 1st receipt. So annoying...
