Saskatchewan Convention

Has anybody ever thought of setting up a convention in Regina, because there is a Convention Centere here,

it would be awesome, although when I suggested getting a Regina meetup together in the saskatchewan sightings thread all I got was one response, so I seriously doubt we's be able to pull a convention off. There was some "anime" show last summer and it was a freaking joke

Well Comic-Con started small, Bot-Con started small everything started Small, in a few years it could be something, if not a con what about a Saskatchewan Toy Expo?

Not to knock that down, the closest place that would realistically be game without a LOT of effort is Edmonton or Calgary, so I'd sooner look into a TF something rather at Otafest or whatever its called now.

You guys should totally organize your own event, but do start small. I'd say that you should avoid looking at a venue as large as a convention center as their prices(and headaches) are likely significant.

Look at smaller options, hotel halls, comunity centers, flea markets. Get a Toy Show going and then go from there.
