Re: RiD episodes 1 and 2
I'm liking it. Feels like they took the best parts of different series, particularly Animated, and carefully and lovingly crafted them into this series. Even for the part they were on Cybertron, it felt like how Cybertron felt in Beast Machines. But post-series, when everything is peaceful and happy, not lonely and depressing, and minus the techno-organic thing, obviously. It's hard to describe. It's like when you go to a different city or country. It just feels different. And it's a distinct feeling.
But I digress. Point is: I like it. The show feels right. The jokes actually made me LOL, and didn't come across as too forced or corny or pandering than they had to be. Although, this is only the first couple of episodes. Let's see how boring and repetitive they become by the 13th. Not to mention the character gimmicks. Sideswipe's "I'm a rebel. You can't give me order" attitude. Strongarm's "Yes, sir! But article 3, section 4.6, paragraph 2, of the official code says..." rulebook quoting and Bumblebee senpai-ing. Fix-It's word hiccups, I mean, mix-ups! And Grimlock's rambunctious and goofy manure. They all going to get old fast if they don't start working on some deeper character development.
