Re: Did we ever get Universe Hardhead?
I imagine Skyfall (the Silverbolt repaint) will also get a little harder to acquire once Venksta's upgrade kit comes out.

It's already happened. As soon as the upgrade was announced all the Classics/Henkei Rodimus' skyrocketed in price.

Re: Did we ever get Universe Hardhead?
^^ Tell me about it. Not even a month before the FansProject upgrade was announced, I could've gotten a MOC Classics Rodimus for $20 CDN off eBay. No such luck these days. Like GW said, as soon as a cool upgrade is announced, the figure the upgrade is meant for skyrockets in value, almost overnight.

Which really doesn't make a lot of sense. It assumes that everybody who wants one is going to upgrade it. It also potentially hurts the upgrade company, since any potential customers who maybe didn't want it before, but do now, may pass on it since they don't want have to pay close to $200 all together for their Rodimus upgrade figure.

I dunno, these upgrade kits are always done in very small numbers, and I can't imagine their overhead is that big.
I mean, these kits are basically guaranteed to sell out first month, right?

Re: Did we ever get Universe Hardhead?
I got my mine from Ogdensburg today! Paid $34.50 USD at Amazon, shipping was free, then $5 USD for the UPS store. I thought I was doing pretty well at $39.50...
But the funny thing is I also stopped with a fellow collector at the Walmart there, and sure enough they had a Hardhead for $25 on clearance!!! Just one (of course) but it was hilarious...he bought it for himself. We also nabbed those new 6" Iron man figs as they have been scalped around the Ottawa area.
Any way we didn't pay duty so it was a good day. :-)
Hardhead looks pretty good, actually.
