Re: Vancouver memebers gathering/going south trip!

So how many people have we got that would be interested in going??? This would be a good tally to keep an eye on as we would need room in vehicles for all of the goodies (and Jack in the crack rappers). I would suggest that it should be no more then 4 people to a car or five if we have a van/truck/SUV.

duh, I guess I could have counted....5.

Re: Vancouver memebers gathering/going south trip!

Hey guys,

I'd be up for coming down with you guys.

I've got a 5 seater ('03 Protege 5 wagon) with lots of Millenium Falcon-style storage .

If anyone is coming from the Richmond/Steveston area I'd be your ride!

Any specific date planned yet? My son's birthday parties are on February 14th and 15th so that weekend doesn't work for me.

I may be able to borrow my father-in-law's 1987 Toyota van that seats 7.

It's kinda ghetto though, very rickety and squeaky. Champagned coloured...

Looks like this, but without the 4WD.

No doubt all the Bellingham/Blaine chicks will want to get inside our pants if we're rollin' in one of these:

From Passport Canada's website:

Starting June 1, 2009, a U.S. law will require Canadians to present a valid passport to enter the United States by water or land. U.S. law already requires Canadians to present a valid passport to enter the U.S. by air. Apply for your passport today to ensure you have it when you need it. Remember, the passport is the recommended travel and identification document for all Canadian travellers.

I would still just get a passport anyway. The US border guards can be pricks sometimes.

As for meeting up/going south, I'm way too busy to go anywhere at this point (plus money is tight since I have to save for a house) but I'd be up for a meet and greet. It would be nice to hang out with fellow board members. None of my friends collect so it would be nice to have some people to geek out with locally. I'd be okay for most weekends.

I think this is a great idea. Transformers Pub night!!! Beers and Bots? (we could always arrange something if there is a large demand from our younger members)

Howzabout beer, bots and Bats?

The CN IMAX is starting their run of The Dark Knight in IMAX this Friday the 23rd http://www.imax.com/vancouver/

We could keep our money in Canada and check that out.

My connections at that theatre tell me that The Watchmen will be simlutaneously released in IMAX and 35MM on March 6th so I could try and pull some strings for a discount on tickets or at least access to the opening night gala (if there is one).

I'm also thinking long term and I've got my ear to the ground in case Transformers 2 comes to the CN IMAX.

Re: Vancouver memebers gathering/going south trip!

im interested and can pick up tech spec to meet up in richmond/steveston. tech is a 10 min dreive from where im at. i drive a 2 seater so taking my car wouldnt be a smart idea along with having no trunk space lol. would be good to do a meetup sometime too. preferably not at a store but just somewhere. to my understanding with the boarder guards you can safely buy about $100 per person without getting taxed with customs fees. you will be required to stay roughly about 24 hrs give or take. theyre pretty leinent on times unless you go for like 3-4 hrs.
