COSMIC RUST!!

So, this was just something I did 'cause I just wanted to see the results for myself, in person, vs. looking at someones video on the computer. Using this video:

How to do a REALLY Rusty model car - YouTube

I decided I would give it a go.

Using a Mirage, that I had bought for other reasons that never panned out because of the condition of said Mirage, I stripped off everything I could think that I may "some day" use, pretty much glued him all in place except for the doors and hood, and I got to work on what I labeled "Rusty Mirage"

He does not Transform!!....Stasis Lock to the EXTREME!!

As you can see, that's some pretty serious looking rust there!!....Pretty pleased with this little experiment I must say....and it's extremely easy to do to boot. Hope to see some others take on this process and put it to good use.

Enjoy!!

Re: COSMIC RUST!!

It's the little touches like around the wheel well that really sell it. Amazing.

Re: COSMIC RUST!!

Was this a Binaltech or Alternator? I'm guessing Alternator since the plastic would be easier to work with.

even though I live in a small city, it's so "country-fied" here....I wouldn't be surprised at all to actually see one.

Yep, Alternator would be correct. I dont believe this mold was ever released in a metal form....they were all plastic.

yessir!!....I actually studied TTT's Tut a bit before laying down the damage....if I ever come across the parts to make this Mirage whole again, I may just "resurrect" him.....
