Re: Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)
Great job so far dude! I look forward to the final completed piece!
If I may offer 3 pieces of suggestion:
1) To get sharper details, you'll probably want to clean, sand, bevel, detail all your smaller add-on pieces before gluing them together. Once they've been glued together, it ends up being increasingly difficult to do any additional cleanup or detailing work, especially if the combined parts have uneven surfaces.
2) Your priming looks really heavy, and it looks like it's pooling together at panel lines and recesses. Do multiple lighter misting coats instead. Which leads on to my next point...
3) ... I personally recommend against using white primer, and generally opt for grey primers instead. In general, white primers tends to have coarser particles, which tends to not spray on as light or as smooth as grey primers. This might help you avoid the pooling of primer, as the thinner coats are less likely to accumulate in the recesses.

^ agreed white primer is the worst, I prefer grey , or Krylon plastic paint "beige".
If you use white, the only way I have gotten it to somewhat work is many VERY light coats, and even then it ends up being to thick. if your using it directly out of a spray can, you can " decant it ( http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/de...e#.VIdU0NLF8ng ) " and use a airbrush

1) I keep that in mind man
2) in terms of the legs and arms on the base bot, I'm just going to buy another Cyb. Prime so I get another shot at it. I don't much like how the priming came out either -_-;; I kinda jumped the gun and am regretting it now lol
3) I'm using white primer because I plan to hit Nova with a Pearl White....I tend to use white primer when brighter colours are the base (yellow, cyan, green, etc)....gray is for darker colours

The easiest way around that is to prime with a grey (for the smoothness), hit it with a light coat of white paint, then go on and spray the light/bright colors that you were planning.
I used to think like you (white primer for light colors, grey primer for darker colors), but after much experimentation, it really didn't matter in the end, and grey primer is really the way to go for smoother finishes.

Re: Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)
So I managed to get a bit more work done on the wing sections, and received some parts from Hobby Search to spice it up a bit more. Still have a long way to go, but I'm liking the results.
the full wingspan so far
A better look at the parts I got from Hobby Search. They're HIQ Parts 5 and 6MM plates w/ domes. I plan to paint them that candy red I used on Grandus' guns
Some more details behind the main wing body

Oh really now? hmmmmmm
Also opinion time....does the wing section with the rear wheels need any more details? I'm seeing some panels and whatnot but don't want to make it too busy. Thoughts?

What are the paint apps in that area? do they break it up?
If your worried about it , just add some flat profiled to the outside edge shaped styrene, say 5-6 mm in from the edge in both areas, that should be enough.
Or add a louvre, I use (Evergreen brand ) siding or clap board
If your feeling adventurous, scribe some panel lines in, but its hard to do and easy to fudge up, trust me
