I wonder how Canadian Tire's profits are...Are they going to become the next Zellers?

Ah yes, Canadian Tire toy pricing. I remember when they tried to sell that Mini-Con ten-pack for FORTY DOLLARS. I got mine when they finally put it down to $15.

Re: Transformers DOTM holiday 3 packs released at Canadian Retail

I don't remember the price, but I'm sure its been posted in sightings threads, and I do recall it dropping quite a bit toward the end.

Also from what I remember from my time served in retail, Crappy Tire gets hosed quite a lot on stuff like this when it doesn't sell before the summer changeovers because being a section of the seasonal department that's only there for a couple of months, its not even merchandise that they have around for the rest of the year to shelfwarm. Plus, since the section itself is so well, seasonal haha, bringing last year's crap out doesn't do much.

Like, I remember hunting around for fittings & shit all the time and having to crawl through sleds in the warehouse to get there in the winter, but for toys like this, much of it ends up being loss leaders for the sake of flyer & department presence, but that's largely how the stores make their money. That's why we had such a huge emphasis on not fucking up on the weekend rushes (namely with big ticket flyer items), and why nobody gave a shit about random Nascar crap that went on clearance haha.

Poor kids. 3 Bumblebees all at once, 2 being the same mold. What were they thinking?

I'm glad I only paid $14.61 + tax for the 3 I got last week at Toys R Us.

It probably might have been an easier sell to parents if it was a 3-pack with an Animated, Movie, and Prime Bumblebee.

Re: Transformers DOTM holiday 3 packs released at Canadian Retail

Yeah I saw these at my Crapy Tire a week or two ago, didn't think anyone cared about them. WTF is with 3 Bees in one pack anyway? I guess its just CT trying to sell off the rest of the crap from last year. Mine has the 2 pack Universe deluxe Optimus Prime and Megatron as well. Sad thing is that it was there last year too, and at the end of X-mas they were 5 bucks now there back up to 30.

I can see clueless parents and grandparents buying these.

I'm guessing the high regular price is just so Canadian Tire will be able to put it on "sale" for $25 bucks or something for their flyers/x-mas sales.
