Bugs...
I fucking hate 'em. Especially those centipede type things. Get them the fuck outta here. Seems like every week I kill 2 or 3. I left a glass out last night right near the wall, today, there were 2 of them that couldn't get out of it. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Go away!!!

Personally, though I acknowledge that the world does need insects and arthropods and all that to function, I don't understand why I have to interact directly with them.
I'm on the same page as you, Beechy. Bugs, as well as nature in general, should never venture into The Domain of Humankind. Lest they face the wrath of over 10 million years of evolution and technology, ending with a certain death.
I have no tolerance for any bugs being within my living space, or working space, or indoors in general (including tents and pavilions). I will hunt them down until they are crushed into a fine paste and flushed down the toilet. If they want to live, they better damn well stay away from Humans.
I'm getting to be so xenophobic that I'm considering signing up for one of those year long isolation science things that simulate a trip to Mars just to seal myself away from bugs.
I won't, because that would be stupid and extreme.
I guess all of this stems from an irrational fear of bees, wasps, hornets, etc.
Its getting to the point where I might consider facing someone with a gun rather than go into an area with a wasp's nest. I'm not at that point yet, but I can slowly see myself sliding to that point of insanity.

Re: Bugs...
I dislike bugs, but the only ones that I really hate are centipedes. I kept finding curled up dead ones on my basement carpet last year... is my basement really so dirty that not even a centipede can survive? Never ONCE saw a live one in that house. Plenty of live ones in the basement of the old house however. Creepy little bastards. I won't go near one..
I am ok with Bees and Wasps, despite having been bitten by wasps twice as a child. In fact, I find bees cute >.>
Especially this one bee that was in my house, he was round as a marble, and twice as fat! Just a little yellow and black buzzing puffball hovering above my head while I was playing some computer game! X3
Spiders, I hate spiders. However, I can deal with them. I refuse to kill any insect. Most flying ones I leave alone in my house, but Spiders get a swift escort outdoors. Well, if I can catch a fly, I will take it outside, or I will stalk it and force it to move towards the door then I shoo it out.

Re: Bugs...
No one has mentioned earwigs? Damn those those are the creepiest things I have ever seen. Thank god I have not seen any since moving out west.
Other than that, I tolerate bugs... mostly because I have to put on a brave face in front of the kids.

Re: Bugs...
Im pretty down with the spiders I find in my house. They usually stay out of my way and eat other, worse insects.
House centipedes can die horrible deaths, though.

Re: Bugs...
Agreed with all here. We seem to also have alot of centipedes in the basement.
Worse thing is when they drop from ceilings, or come running out from a door you open. Last one I killed was the size of my friggin thumb, I sh$t you not.
I have killed at least 100 this year alone and they just keep coming.
Any tricks on extermination techniques.

Re: Bugs...
Entomology increased my courage and understanding of insects. I usually trap them and release them outside. I hate flies, they're gross.

My friend found 2 live earwigs in the Peach he got at the farmers market a few weeks ago.
Speaking of Centipedes, my friend's roommate had one that was about half a foot long. Creepy as HELL. As he was handling it, by having it crawl all over him, he said "it won't bite you if it thinks you are a tree." But this guy also had pet Tarantulas, Scorpions (that he was breeding) and Black Widows, which he was also breeding, the babies got loose in his appartment building... He says they all would have died within a day of that though. I hope he was right, lol
