It's a bit of late right now, you should always pre-order MP from Japan's sites.
For MP StarSaber, u can search a old thread that was started by me, which has the best price to order, hopefully some that still open for preorder.

Are these Japanese pre-orders indeed the best prices? If so, I'm in. I've had to pay pretty close to top dollar for MP11, so if there's any way to save some bucks for future MP purchases, I'm in.

This AmiAmi website looks like the prices were great!...but everything is sold out, of course

Ya, Amiami is the place to go. They were the first to put up preorders if I remember right and sold out fast (as they do), then HLJ and Hobby Search put up and eventually sold out.

But then Amiami added more preorders a little while later, but at that point everyone either put in their order in one of those three sites or gave up searching.

I am relatively new to the import direct from Japan game. But I preordered MP-20 Wheeljack from HLJ for 5200 JPY and later on MP-21 Bumblebee for 5100 JPY.

I received MP-20 for $62.37 CAD after shipping took exactly 20 days to get him with least expensive shipping option. but had I opted for expedited shipping it still would of been under $70 CAD. I paid better than $90 after shipping and exchange to get MP Prowl from BBTS.

The experience and savings over what I'd pay to order from BBTS makes keeping the Bumblebee preorder an easy decision.

Objectively larger figures such as MP-22 and MP-24 are a good deal as well. I just don't often pay better than $100 for a single figure so I didn't preorder either of them. I have been told that the odds of paying duty on the figures over $100 is greater (some have even suggested to me it is all but certain).

In the end I now check the listing at the Japanese sites early and often and any future MP's I must have will be preordered direct from Japan.

Well, I'll keep an eye out for preorder threads in the future. Do these sites ever get restocks?...I'm sure they do, but the preorder prices probably go quick. Sure beats preorder at BBTS, although I've had one good transaction with them as well.

Amiami only ever gets the one stock, any restock are usually from people bailing on their orders.

Another good site is Nippon-yasan but their orders for masterpieces are already sold out I believe, and once the order comes in the, the prices jump back to regular.

I will try to start a preorder thread for each new MP (if there is not one yet). Because one person can't check all the preorder site in a timely funsion. So just pay attention and check the forums more often when there will be a new MP announced.
