TF:Prime - When should Optimus die?

as a joke i was gonna say that he should die in a feature length movie in between seasons 2 and 3, but i'm now gonna say never

I vote 'not at all'. It's a weak and overly used plot point, and given how dark 'Prime' is from time to time I don't want to see a creepy zombie-fied dark energon Prime crawling towards Miko wanting to eat her. Wait a second...that actually sounds kinda cool, but I'd still rather it be undead Bumblebee instead.

I'm going with these guys and say never although I did vote die later and come back quick in the poll since I considered that the closest thing to my opinion.

And I dont think he died in animated, that was prowl that sari saved near the beginning.

He "died" in Animated in the opening movie for Season 1 (turned grey and all), but he was brought back to life 5 seconds later by Sari and the Allspark Key.

So far, the only Optimus Prime/Convoy not to die is Fire Convoy/Optimus Prime (From Car Robots / Robots in Disguise) and Big Convoy (Beast Wars Neo)

I think the only thing that should die is this over used plot point. Keep Prime alive.

I also agree with those who think having Prime die is overused and meaningless.

IF Prime is going to die, he shouldn't come back. [What...no spoiler tags? Uh...] In Transformers Prime, SOMEBODY (not sayin' who) died and stayed dead, which is what made that whole sequence memorable and meaningful.

Since I doubt they'd kill Optimus off permanently, I vote for not going down that route at all.

I agree with the others which have said no dead for Prime.

However, for purposes of this poll, I voted for a later death and extended absence. This ensures the series continues for some time!

It is a stand alone Arc and you should bring yourself to watch it. So far, it's getting very good.

I would vote stay dead for a while, since it can be used in the same way as Megatron's death. Explore what the series would be like with a different leader. This was SORTA explored in G1, but I don't feel it was done very well. No offense to Protoman, but i really don't feel Rodimus was a very well done character. He struggled with leadership, which was good. But i really didn't see any progress in him as a character. No growth. He was simply an inadequate leader. Almost useless I'd say. He wasn't even in very many episodes..

okay enough of that rant. I'm going to far.
My point is, I think it's really cool to see Starscream as a leader and I'm actually fascinated by the differences in leadership between him and Megatron. I can actually go on for a while about how vastly different they are. Although I'd be very happy if Optimus never died, I feel that if he did die, it wouldn't serve the show at all unless he stayed dead. Let Arcee or even Ratchet lead for a while and let them develop as a character. Figure out what it means to be a leader and really develop themselves.

It would be awesome if he dies and comes back with a beard, afro and large samurai sword! On second thought if he comes back evil that would be good with me.
