Poll: How many of your Takara Masterpiece figures have QC issues

I find issues with both Takara and Hasbro. Paint, parts that don't tab in properly because of tightening, etc. Overpaint on smaller parts is a big one that I find on nearly all of them.

That said, I can say definitively I've had SIGNIFICANTLY better luck with Takara than Hasbro. And I find overall Takara vs. Hasbro to be a case of Takara almost always having better paint and tighter joints across the board. I'm slowly replacing my Hasbro MPs with Takara for this reason. For some the price difference isn't worth it. For me, I'm finding that it is.

For me MP-17 Prowl had some sticky tacky stuff over the word POLICE on one of his doorwings out of the box. I had to be careful in removing it and not removing the lettering.

Cant vote, 1 in 5 is too much and none is not enough. I might have QC issues on 1 or 2 of about 20 figures.

Sideswipe was the worst offender, but I have a few with paint issues. I have more than five mp figures, but I'm not sure how many. Incidentally, my 3rd party figures are in the same range, but at least they have sent replacement parts, whereas Takara would not.

Oh yeah- 3P is an entirely different (and interesting) ball of wax. I had an Impossible Toys Not-Arcee fall apart in the box with no contact. Window and seats came right off. LOL On the other hand, FT Quakewave I find to be absolutely AMAZING but the clamshell packaging he was in was too weak to handle the diecast feet. So I actually thought he was broken in box when in fact he just "fell" through the clamshell he was in. Figure itself was perfect (and still is.)

I still think top-to-bottom (design, to packaging, to figure) Takara is *probably* better than anyone. But I would be curious to hear peoples' thoughts on Takara vs a particular 3P company. That's probably a different thread, but I'm interested someone brought it up.

Actually, Takara - as well as most other Japanese toy companies like Bandai - does provide products support and repair parts to defective/broken products. Quality controls and safety are highly valued in Japan both by companies and consumers. But companies only support their domestic Japanese market.

I would say Takara MP Megatron and Rodimus. Megatron...has a slew of issues. Rodimus has always had loose wrists (can be fixed just never bothered to), the leg panels and his back doesn't connect strongly. Those gripes aside though, it's still a fantastic figure, but surely wasn't on par as it should have been on mine. Also have been having bad luck with Takara lately with loose joints, especially the TFP toys. Put me off spending more on them for that reason.
As far as Hasbro goes, for me, I have been lucky so far. No issues that I have noticed. Mistakes and issues do happen though. With Hasbro, you can take it back to the store for another one. With 3rd party, they generally will send replacement parts. So, I really can't complain in that regards.
