Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

Seriously, I gotta agree with Jourdo on this one... every now and then I stop at the local VV and I've yet to see anything remotely close to a Transformer toy there.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

I find that the quality of VV varies widely from store to store. The one on Steeles and...Dufferin? Bathurst? Whatever, I don't know my Toronto streets yet...anyways, it only has plush toys. The one in Hamilton on the other hand, has basically a whole aisle full of action figures/lego/dolls. Sometimes there isn't anything good at the Hamilton one, but the odds are much better than the Toronto store I've been to.

Oh Hamilton, I'll be back to you in May...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

I've had a couple really good to GREAT scores at thrift stores.

The first and biggest. Walked into Value Village in Grande Prairie, AB. Scanned the toy wall... saw some mini-bots. Oh wow. Wait. Is that... Soundwave? Wait. And then I feverishly scavenged the wall, walking to the till with arms full of G1 Optimus Prime (with fists and roller), Soundwave (with Buzzsaw, one battery and two missiles), Blaster, Brainstorm, Huffer, Powerglide, WarPath and... something else. And two go-bots. It was nuts.

Another time at a goodwill I came away with Scattershot, Strafe, Kup, Fangry and the autobot twins Cloudraker and Fastlane. Found a G1 Astrotrain at a different goodwill. Most of this G1 stuff is missing accessories but had the important ones like fists and heads. Soundwave was awesome to get with almost all his stuff.

Recently I've added some Beast Wars (mostly complete!) to my collection, found Spittor and Bantor at the PoCo langley last year (along with a 2nd Scarem). BW ultra Megs, a couple K-9s, Scourge, Bonecrusher, Polar Clawm Jawbreaker, some others at VV Abbotsford. I've really been working on completing the main BW line after probably adding a dozen guys through thrift... Toy Traders is actually selling some of their BW. =)

Please tell me these findings were 10-20 years ago . I only found recently a working Hokey Pokey Elmo ..... for my son.
